ISRO Unveils ‘Young Scientist’ Programme to Train Students in Space Science
ISRO’s two-week residential training programme will be held each year during summer holidays for students from across the country who have completed class 8 and are studying in class 9.
ISRO has launched the special programme for school children ‘Yuva Vigyani Karyakram’ (Young Scientist programme) to impart basic knowledge on space technology, space science and applications to the young ones to arouse their interest in space activities.
Its two-week residential training programme and will be held each year during summer holidays for students from across the country who have completed class 8 and are studying in class 9. Three students will be selected from each state/union territory to participate in the programme each year covering CBSE, ICSE and state syllabus. The selection is based on the academic performance and extracurricular activities. Students belonging to rural areas have been given special weightage in the selection criteria.
