Terms and Conditions of the Contest

 

This Moon Habitat Design Contest is brought to you by Natskies. Please read these terms and conditions (“T&Cs”) before entering the Contest. You agree that, by participating in this Contest, you will be bound by these T&Cs and you acknowledge and agree that you satisfy all Contest eligibility requirements as provided herein below.

 

Definition
”Participant/You/Guest/Organizer” means the person/persons in whose name/on whose behalf booking or registration is made.
Company/We/Us/Natskies Observatory/Natskies” means Natskies

Jurisdiction
All disputes pertaining to the Camp related services conducted by the Company and any claim arising there-under shall be subjected to Mumbai jurisdiction only.

 

General and Submission related:

 

  1. Only application submitted through online mode will be considered eligible. Submissions should be made electronically.

 

  1. Participant has to pay an application processing fee in order to participate in the contest during the submission process.The payment should be made at the end of the application submission by means of online transaction. If in any case the traction is failed, participant can pay the application fees via bank deposit.

 

  1. All submissions must be submitted by or before 31st August 2019.

 

  1. A PDF certificate will be emailed to all participants.

 

  1. The best submission, regardless of category, wins the grand prize*.

 

  1. The Natskies will inviteContestwinners to attend theNatskies Space Summit 2019in October 2019. Invited contestants can attend the Summit, along with their parents, teachers, siblings and friends. The highest ranking winners attending the Summit will be invited to give oral presentations as per time availability.To the extent space is available, all winning contestants who attend the Summit will be invited to display poster of their work. Special sessions will be arranged for contestants, teachers, parents, etc

 

Note: Contestants are responsible for all travel arrangements and costs and conference expenses. Also, minors (children under 18) must be accompanied by a responsible adult (21 years or older).

 

  1. Moon settlements must be permanent homes, not temporary work camps. Submissions may focus on one or a few aspects of moon settlement and supporting systems.Designs, original research, essays, stories, models, artwork or any other moon settlement related materials may be submitted.

 

  1. Submissions should not be longer than 10 pages (In Pfd Format) unless it is essential to explain the work. The project must consist of 1-10 pdf or jpg files (usually just one).

 

  1. The submission must be the student’s own work.Plagiarism is forbidden. No part of an entry may be copied. Entries caught plagiarizing (even one part of a large entry), will be disqualified. Instructors, mentors or parents may assist the student by presenting relevant resources, discussing core concepts and suggesting minor edits, but the work itself must be entirely student produced.

 

  1. All decisions by the judges will be final.

 

  1. To avoid plagiarism, we recommend that you

Never use copy/paste for any text in your project.

Never write your project while looking at anybody else’s text.

Never memorize a passage and type it into your project.

 

 

 

Eligibility:

 

You need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to enter the Contest:

  1. You should be an individual legal resident of the Republic of India
  2. You must be students enrolled in the school or a college at the time of participating in the contest

 

Employees of Natskies, their immediate family members (spouses, domestic partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren), and Natskies’s affiliates, advisors, advertising/Contest agencies are not eligible to enter the Contest.

 

 

Details on how to enter the contest

 

This Contest will commence on 20th July 2019 from 12:00:01 p.m. (IST). In order to be eligible for the Contest, during the Contest Period you must submit your project and complete the application process by paying the application processing fees

 

 

Mailing List

 

By entering the Contest, you consent to being placed on a mailing list for promotional and other informative materials for Natskies. You may update or change your email preferences at the email preferences page.

 

 

Prizes

 

There are a total of 8 (eight) Prize(s) that will be given under this Contest. The Prize should be collected by the winner during the Natskies Space Summit 2019 (Space summit date will be announced and communicated).

 

 

Prize drawing

 

The drawing for selection of the winners of the Contest will be aggregated at the end of the Contest Period. We will notify the selected participants by e-mail/ SMS following the draw (“Notification Date”). By agreeing to participate and enter into this contest, you agree that you have a valid proof of identity and age in the form of a copy of school/college ID card and may be required to share the said documents with Natskies as and when requested.

 

The selected participants will automatically forfeit their claim to the Prize if they do not meet the eligibility criteria or do not comply with these T&Cs. Further, all selected participants will need to claim the Prize within 7 days from the Space Summit, failing which such selected participant will be construed to have forfeited the Prize. Each Prize will be awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). There are no cash or other prize alternatives available in whole or in part. However, in circumstances beyond our control, we may substitute a similar alternative prize of equal or greater value in our sole discretion. If any selected participant does not respond back to any communications sent in relation to the Contest within the time period communicated by Natskies, or submit the all documents of the prizes, he/she shall not be eligible to be declared winner of the Prize.

 

The winners will be declared by the review committee. The decision made by committee will be considered as the final decision.

 

Cancellation Policy:

 

Participation in the Moon Habitat contest requires participants to pay an application processing fees. The full amount will be refunded in case of the cancellation of the event due to the circumstances beyond control of Natskies. The refund will be made through the same mode of payment used to apply for the contest within 45 days after the announcement of cancellation of the contest. No physical cash transaction will be made.

 

Participant cannot ask for any refund if they are unable to submit their project in time due to any reason.

 

Additional Terms

 

We may, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and in our sole discretion, change the T&Cs or cancel the Contest at any time; or modify, terminate, or suspend the Contest should viruses, worms, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond our control corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest or submission of entries. We are not responsible for: (a) lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, or unintelligible entries or for inaccurate entry information, whether caused by you or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries; (b) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest; (c) any error in the operation or transmission, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software, malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive any entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; or (d) injury or damage to your or any other computer or mobile resulting from downloading any materials in connection with the Contest. We may, in our sole discretion, disqualify any individual found to be: (a) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or mobile application; (b) acting in violation of these T&Cs; or (c) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. If your entry is incomplete or if you use robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods, your entry will be void. The authorized subscriber of the e-mail account used to enter the Contest at the actual time of entry will be deemed to be the participant and must comply with these T&Cs in the event of a dispute as to entries submitted by multiple users having the same e-mail account. The authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domains associated with the submitted e-mail addresses. No benefits greater than those described in the “Description of the Contest and How to Enter” section above in these T&Cs will be awarded.

 

 

Force Majeure

 

This Contest is subject to force majeure circumstances including without limitation, floods, natural disasters, war, act of terror, political unrests, technical snags, act of God or any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Natskies (“Force Majeure Event”). Natskies shall be not liable for any delay or adverse effect caused to the participants in the Contest including the winners as a result of a Force Majeure Event.

 

 

Publicity Release

 

By participating in the Contest, you give Natskies and/ or its affiliates permission to use your name, likeness, image, voice, and/or appearance as such may be embodied in any pictures, photos, video recordings, audiotapes, digital images, and the like, taken or made in relation to the Contest and any promotions, events, or contests to follow. You agree that Natskies and/ or its affiliates have the right to publish your saved details for any communication, promotions, events, or contests that follow. You agree that Natskies and/ or its affiliates have complete ownership of such pictures, etc., including the entire copyright, and may use them for any purpose. These uses include, but are not limited to illustrations, bulletins, exhibitions, videotapes, reprints, reproductions, publications, advertisements, and any promotional or educational materials in any medium now known or later developed, including the internet. You acknowledge that you will not receive any compensation, etc. for the use of such pictures, etc., and hereby release Natskies and/ or its affiliates and its agents and assigns from any and all claims which arise out of or are in any way connected with such use. You give your consent to Natskies and/or its affiliates, agents and assigns to use your name and likeness to promote the Contest and any promotions, events, or contests to follow.

 

Liability Release

 

This Contest is being made purely on a “best effort” basis and participating in this Contest is voluntary. By participating in the Contest, you will be legally bound hereby, to release from liability, and hold harmless Natskies, and any of its affiliates, employees or agents representing or related to Natskies and its services/products. This release is for any and all liability for personal injuries (including death), property loss or damage, and misuse of the benefits/ Prizes offered under this Contest, in connection with any activity or directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, or participation in the Contest, even if caused or contributed to by our negligence.
